You must decide what it is you want to focus on, then not let yourself be distracted away from that, especially if you are just getting started. Start with only 1-3 things then as you get better you will learn how to apply what you learned to any new scheme or idea you want to.

Once you select what it is you want to focus on then you can start honing that focus. Fine tune it so to speak. Learn to do the things that will bring the object of your focus to the peak of success. For example automating as many of the daily tasks as possible, exploring and gaining any knowledge needed to bring success in the area you have chosen, using the power of a good viral site that will assist you build your programs from one site etc.

Regardless of what you have heard or been told, most money made on the Internet does not come easy. You will have to have a system in place with a well laid out plan on how to make that process work successfully.
